Let me introduce you to my home country - Romania
Join us to discover Romania’s hidden gems and immerse into cultural experiences while visiting castles, ruins, traditional villages and old historical centres. Our promise is to take you on an extensive trip throughout the country’s rich landscapes, historical and cultural sites.
Bran Castle is famous worldwide as the legendary Dracula’s Castle, an enchanting fortress located in the middle of Transylvania is an absolute must-visit for tourists seeking a taste of the mysterious and the macabre. Visiting this castle will be taking you back in time in the world of vampire Count Dracula, where the gothic architecture, small and narrow corridors, dark rooms and imposing gates will bring his legends back to life. Bran Castle has never been the Vlad the Impaler’s residence, but it’s linked to his legend in people’s minds because of the resemblance to Dracula’s castle in Bram Stocker’s novel called “Dracula”.
Romania boasts a rich tapestry of natural landscapes, shaped by its diverse geography and climate. From sweeping plains and rolling hills to ancient forests and winding waterways, the country is home to a wide variety of natural habitats that support remarkable biodiversity.
One of Romania’s most iconic natural treasures is the Danube Delta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the largest and most biodiverse wetlands in Europe. Formed where the Danube River meets the Black Sea, this labyrinth of rivers, lakes, reed beds, and marshes is a sanctuary for over 300 species of birds, including pelicans, herons, and cormorants, as well as rare fish, amphibians, and plants.
In the southern and western plains, such as the Wallachian Plain and Banat, fertile grasslands and farmlands stretch across the horizon. These areas are punctuated by river valleys and seasonal wetlands that provide critical habitats for native flora and fauna.
The Moldavian Plateau and Transylvanian hills feature a more varied landscape of rolling countryside, orchards, and mixed forests. These areas are rich in wildflowers, birds, and traditional rural life, offering a picturesque setting where nature and heritage coexist.
Romania also contains extensive deciduous and coniferous forests, many of which remain undisturbed. The Carpathian foothills and central woodlands host populations of wolves, lynx, and one of the largest brown bear populations in Europe. The old-growth forests of Romania are among the last of their kind on the continent.
Along the Black Sea coast, Romania offers yet another unique habitat: coastal lagoons, dunes, and steppe-like grasslands, home to migratory birds and salt-tolerant vegetation.
Rich cultural heritage is something that Romania is no lacking off. At example that stands out are the painted monasteries located in Northern Moldova, being part of UNESCO World Heritage Sites known for their vibrant frescoes that depict biblical stories in exquisite detail.
Architecture is another reason to visit, Romania has plenty of unique medieval cities to explore (Brasov, Sibiu, Sighisoara, Alba Iulia, Cluj-Napoca, Oradea etc.) alongside the beautiful capital, Bucharest which is a blend of historical styles, including Eclectic, Neoclassical, and Art Nouveau, with influences from interbellum periods like Bauhaus.

Taste of Romania

Romanian traditional food is something not to miss, as our meals are full of flavour, spices and fresh produced ingredients. From the classic “mămăligă cu sarmale,” cornmeal porridge often served as a side dish with cabbage rolls stuffed with a mix of minced meat and rice, all enveloped in tender soured cabbage leaves. We are also mentioning the famous bbq and street food option called “mici” or “mititei” which are small grilled skinless sausages served with mustard and bread rolls, on the side it’s recommended to try one of the Romanian local beers. For dessert lovers, we shall recommend “papanași”, two doughnuts with soft cheese, one ring-shaped and one ball-shaped, served with sour and topped with fruit preserve, usually cherry or blueberry.
