When can I check-in early at the hotel?

Official hotel check-in times vary depending on each property’s policies, but typically fall between 2:00 and 3:00 PM. If your flight arrives early in the morning, you may reach the hotel before your room is ready. In such cases, hotel staff can often suggest ways to make the most of your free time—whether that's sightseeing, relaxing the lobby, or enjoying a nearby café or restaurant—while your room is being prepared. Most hotels also offer luggage storage, allowing you to explore the area without having to carry your bags.

What are some useful safety tips and precautions to keep in mind while traveling?

While your Travel Leader/Director will ensure everything runs smoothly, it’s still wise to take a few precautions to avoid unwanted situations.

Personal Belongings - always be mindful of valuable items such as your passport, phone, credit cards, and cash. Avoid leaving them unattended on tables in restaurants, hotel lobbies, or public areas like breakfast rooms. Keep them out of sight and secure when not in use. A discreet, zippered money belt worn under your clothing is a smart way to carry these essentials safely.

Bag / Purse - keep your bag with you at all times. When walking through busy areas, wear it across your chest and keep it positioned in front of your body to deter theft.

Passport and Travel Documents - your passport should remain with you on travel days and stored securely at all times. The safest place for it, along with spare credit/debit cards, emergency contacts, and any large amounts of cash, is a money belt worn under your clothes.
If you're staying in a hotel for an extended period, use the in-room safe or a safety deposit box for additional security - but always remember to collect your belongings before checking out. It’s also a good idea to carry photocopies of your passport and important documents, stored separately from the originals.

Cash - only carry the amount of cash you need for the day and avoid displaying large sums when paying.

Hotel Safety - when leaving your hotel room, ensure all windows are closed and that the door shuts securely behind you. Keep your room key with you at all times. Upon arrival at each hotel, take a moment to familiarize yourself with the emergency exits and fire escape routes, and know how to raise the alarm if needed.

General Awareness - stay alert to your surroundings and avoid confrontational situations or large gatherings. If something doesn’t feel right, trust your instincts and remove yourself from the situation.

In the event of a Hostile Incident - although extremely rare, if you find yourself near a hostile situation, leave the area immediately and contact local authorities. If you cannot leave, seek a secure place to hide, lock the door, remain quiet, and silence your phone. Contact the police as soon as it is safe to do so.

What if I become ill on my trip?

In the event of an unexpected illness or medical accidents, your Travel Leader/Director will be there to support you and help arrange any necessary medical assistance, such as a doctor’s visit or hospital care, if needed. Any medical costs involved will be supported by the traveler/client.
